What Princess Jasmine Taught Me

As I was losing my mind from boredom at work, I stumbled across Zooey Dechanel's blog. Her post was about the things that she has learnt from Disney's Princess Ariel. It brought me to the realization that Zooey was not the only one to have a Disney princess affect her upbringing. When I was a child I adored Princess Jasmine. I use to dress-up like her and once pleaded with my mother to legally change my name to 'Princess Jasmine'.
So I have come up with a list of four things the beautiful, doe eyed Princess taught me:

1) Adventure
To get up on a flying carpet takes extreme guts. You have to be adventurous to leave her sheltered life in a palace. I myself have voluntarily put myself in the most stupid situations all in the name of fun. Maybe I was subconsciously channelling my inner Jasmine all along?

2) Singing
A whole new world was a HIT. Aladdin and Jasmine were like the original Jay and Beyonce. She could sang! And well..I could do a lil somethin' somethin' myself ;).

3) Stubborn
Jasmine was not about to marry one of those uppity rich snobs that her father had arranged for her. Instead, she ran away with a guy from the streets. And with me..basically I say no for fun.

4) Rebellious
The first thing she did when she left the palace was steal an apple. Now I do not condone stealing because I believe that it is very wrong. However, It shows big kahunas. I'm kinda rebellious. I dunno... maybe not. But she's super cool and I love her.
