My Favourite Mistake

The nights at first were cold
and unfamiliar.
Out of my control
Carnality craved from the secular.
As I stood there
Naked skinned and bones
Indubitably bare.
Forced assimilation as your presence approached near.

The thoughts that were safe
Were transformed into guilt within my mind
Discipline plunged my mental
Force deprivation to yearn your kind

Dug my soil
Concurring where men set out yet failed
Polluted my pure
Then announced your ship has sailed
Then left me there
Seeming undone
It seems you have won
White flag has been drawn

But I'd do it again
Yes I'd do it again
Those vulnerable moments
Those memories
Are all well worth it
